The Need

Core Technology wanted to recruit high-calibre graduates with an interest in technology, who would offer innovative technical solutions to current clients and also have the ability to attract new business to compliment the company’s long- term growth. Furthermore, they were looking for candidates who would match the characteristics and DNA of their company values in their Aldgate, London office.

The Solution

Brightsparks initially spent time researching the business and visiting the offices to meet with the management team of Core. This was to gain a true understanding of the company and gain an idea of the type of candidate that was required.

Compiling the information, Brightsparks took time and explored the talent pool in-depth and targeted candidates who had a genuine passion for tech and wanted to kick start a career in the industry. The candidate pool was narrowed down to the top 20% of graduates who expressed a strong desire to work for Core through a tough values-based telephone interview.

From here, an assessment day was held, which was led by the Brightsparks team with Core Technology’s management team in attendance to measure the candidates’ abilities and competencies. The presence of the management team gave the candidates an insight into what life could be like working at Core and a thorough understanding of the roles on offer. The candidates were given the platform to show off their personality with group and individual tasks. This gave the chance for Core to evaluate but also save time and directly make faster decisions when choosing who to hire.

The Outcome

Core were quick to compliment the ‘quality of candidates’ and took six through to final round interview stage at their offices, with a lead time of three weeks from start (sign off) to conclusion of the project. Hires were made just six days after the initial assessment day – providing a fast, efficient, effective talent solution for Core Technology.
